The 8th annual Health-O-Rama seemed to be the best ever.  There are many people to thank for the event and its success.  I thought I would take this article to make sure that those who continue to make Health-O-Rama a fun and informative event each year get the credit they deserve.
The event begins with a walk called the Beacon of Light on Lung Cancer Walk, the proceeds of which help patients with lung disease.  This walk is conducted inside the Logan Valley Mall, making it safe from any bad weather.  Select Specialty Hospital, based in Johnstown, continued as sponsor of this event, and we at the Lung Disease Foundation cannot thank them enough.  Especially exciting and special this year was the participation of a lung transplant patient I know well. Chris (and you know who you are) looked great!  He seemed healthier than I have seen him in many years and I was happy to see him and his mother walking.
I would like to thank my medical partners for giving up their morning to provide informative talks to those assembled as well as our staff who assisted at the event.
Of course, the much anticipated Zlupko family cook off brought out the largest crowd yet.  Although I came in second, I am not bitter, but more energized for next year.
Last, but not least, I would like to thank two special people, Sherri and Cheryl, without whose help the event could not take place.
Lastly, thank you for coming, and see you next year.
